The MARIC Open Water Tank Test Facility, located in Minhang District, Shanghai, was completed and officially put into operation in 2023, and has become a key base for ship hydrodynamics and seakeeping performance research in China. With its advanced test systems, comprehensive testing capabilities, and efficient scientific research services, it is now an indispensable component in the design and optimization of various types of ships.

With a history spanning over half a century, the Towing Tank Laboratory has grown into a leading domestic and internationally recognized base for hydrodynamic testing in ship and ocean engineering.

MARIC is committed to continuously advancing waterjet propulsion testing methods and enhancing testing technical capabilities. It possesses a suite of test facilities, including the Waterjet Propulsion Pump Comprehensive Performance Test Facility, High-Speed Free-Surface Circulating Water Channel and the Waterjet Propulsion Control System Test Laboratory, enabling systematic performance validation of waterjet propulsion and other mainstream propulsors
