Waterjet Propulsion Pump Comprehensive Performance Test Facility

        Main Parameters: Propulsor Test Pipe Diameter: 800 mm; Drive Motor Power: 630 kW; Pump Model Test Pipe Diameter: 300 mm; Drive Motor Power: 90 kW; Flow Rate: 0.54 m³/s (max). It is currently the only Waterjet Propulsion Pump Comprehensive Performance Test Facility in China, with testing accuracy reaching ISO Precision Class. It can conduct hydraulic performance tests of waterjet propulsors and Pump models, cavitation and flow field observation, and Pump blade tip Clearance pulsating pressure measurements. It is a critical test facility for research on hydraulic performance, cavitation, and Vibration of waterjet model Pumps in China.

High-Speed Free-Surface Circulating Water Channel

        Main Parameters: The overall channel dimensions are 50.6 m in length and 15.8 m in height; the test section internal dimensions are 9 m in length × 1.8 m in width × 1.9 m in height, with a test water depth of 1.2 m; the test section flow velocity ranges from 2 to 12 m/s, and the pressure range is 5–350 kPa (absolute static pressure).

        This is the first and currently the only large-scale ultra-high-speed free-surface circulating water channel in China, featuring low non-uniformity of flow velocity in the test section and low free-surface wave height, with overall performance reaching international advanced levels. It operates in two test modes: open free-surface circulating water channel and closed cavitation tunnel. It can conduct experiments on waterjet inlet ducts, propulsor thrust characteristics, waterjet-hull interaction, and steering and astern mechanisms. It is also capable of performing hydrodynamic performance tests on full-scale ship/submarine models with propulsors, cavitation observation, unsteady pressure measure, and noise testing. It is a critical experimental facility for research on hydrodynamic performance, cavitation, and vibration of marine waterjet propulsion systems and other advanced propulsors.

Waterjet Propulsion Control System Laboratory

        Main Parameters: The load simulation system operates under the pressure of 16MPa, powered by a 17kW motor. The accuracy of the measurement and data processing equipment includes 0.5° angle accuracy, 0.1 torque accuracy class, and 0.2 pressure accuracy class.

It's the first laboratory in China equipped with load simulation capabilities of waterjet propulsion control performance testing. It can simulate real ship conditions such as hydrodynamic load on the steering and reversing mechanism, main engine speed, and autopilot to conduct performance tests on waterjet rudder and reverse bucket positioning control strategies, control accuracy, and dynamic response.
